Easter

Our Easter weekend started Saturday morning in Lee's Summit for the annual parade up main street behind the Easter Bunny. After waiting in line to get our moment with the big man himself we went shop to shop getting candy to fill our baskets. After that we headed over to catch Addi's soccer game. Which deserves its own blog spot. After the game up to the Long-Baker Acres we headed. We had a great dinner with some super fantastic sweet potatoes which was followed by a well planned and organized easter egg hunt. Sunday we went down to church for brunch and an encore presentation of the puppet play. Later Sunday afternoon we headed down to Clinton for yet another egg hunt and a hot dog roast. The kids were super excitied Sunday morning to find that the easter bunny himself left them a tetherball pole in the backyard. As soon as it quits raining here and the concrete can actually set up I am sure the tetherball tournament will begin!!!

Haileys Turtle

So yes we have a new addition to our turtle pen. Squirtle the turtle is Hailey's. Named after Squirt on Finding Nemo. He is part aquatic so we had to install a little pond in the turtle pen. So I guess the turtles are moving up in the world with their own swimming pool.

We are still on the lookout for maybe one more small turtle for Hunter.

Puppet Play

The kids did a puppet play down with the church. Hailey was the police officer and Taralyn was the doctor in the play. Hunter was in charge of carrying the items to the "castle" for the celebration. Lesa and Heather did a great job writing the play and getting the set ready to go.

The kids really enjoyed doing the puppet play and had a great time practicing making their puppets mouths move while they talked. I hope there are more puppet plays to come.
